Videostroboscopy and Voice Evaluation

Vegas Voice Institute offers a state-of-the-art voice evaluation which includes an assessment of your pitch, loudness, and quality with our Visi-Pitch IV and a Voice Analysis with our Multidimensional Voice Program, Real-time pitch, and Motor Speech Profile. You will likely undergo a Videostroboscopic examination which enables the speech-language pathologist to assess the vibratory characteristics of the vocal folds as you phonate. A tiny camera is attached to the end of a rigid or flexible scope and will look over the back of your tongue onto the vocal folds.

A strobe light is used to capture your vocal folds during phonatory tasks. These images are recorded into our digital system and will be reviewed with you at the end of your examination. This non-invasive technology provides the speech pathologist and your physician with views of your larynx and your vocal folds in order to better diagnose your voice condition. There is no preparation for this testing procedure. This exam will help us determine whether you are a good candidate for voice therapy or speech therapy treatment.
